Solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for Aotearoa.
We first entered the New Zealand market in 2021 through a joint venture between Ethical Power, Hive Energy and Solar South-West, called HES Aotearoa (HESA). Through this partnership, we developed 9 utility-scale solar photovoltaic systems. These have been successfully sold on to leading utility partner in New Zealand in 2023.
Ethical Power New Zealand is the primary engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the delivery of the 9 solar parks and has an additional pipeline of projects in development.
Leveraging on the 13 years of international experience in the solar industry and the support of all Ethical Power Group companies, we are quickly becoming the leading solar EPC company in New Zealand.
With our global procurement capacity and expertise, we supply the best components and the most cost-effective solutions. Our expert project teams deliver the highest quality assets every time, safely and to timescales.
Ruakākā Solar Park
Ruakākā Solar Park
Meridian Energy selected Ethical Power New Zealand to provide full EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) services for the 130MWac Ruakākā Solar Park.
The Ruakākā Solar Farm is the second element of the Ruakākā Energy Park, which combines a 100MW battery energy storage system (BESS), currently under construction, and the 130MWac solar site to be built by Ethical Power.
The site is located near Marsden Point and Whangārei, in Northland.
Clandeboye Solar Farm
Ethical Power were selected as principal EPC for this project, showcasing the strength of the relationship between the two firms, which as seen Lodestone acquire nine development sites from Ethical Power’s joint venture, HES Aotearoa, with Ethical Power’s UK arm also providing remote performance monitoring for Lodestone’s Kaitaia, Edgecumbe, and Waiotahe solar farms.
The 27.7 MW Clandeboye Solar Farm is Lodestone Energy’s first project on the South Island in Clandeboye, Canterbury and will generate 43 GWh of renewable electricity annually while supporting continued agricultural use through sheep grazing.
